COURSE INFORMATION
The race course is located in Edmonton's famous River Valley, winding its way through three parks, Goldbar, Rundle, and Strathcona Science Park. The start at Goldbar Park is the home to the Edmonton Nordic Ski Club, a venue that has produced many world-class skiers. Ample parking is available as well as water & bathrooms in a heated indoor facility.
The course is a flat, fast 10 kilometre paved circuit, with a few small rolling hills. You have the option of running beside the paved bike path on the grass. The grass is soft and easy to run on
and will help reduce the impact. Runners complete 10 laps for the 100K division, 8 laps for 50 Miles and 5 laps for 50K. 50 mile runners will also run approximately 500 metres extra at the beginning of the race, which will be a short out and back run before re-joining the main course.
Please note that the course is certifed and accurately measured. Also note the elevation profile for the sections of the course that cross the river on the bridges inaccurate, as it does not take into account crossing a bridge, rather it measures running at river level (e.g. swimming).
